FISHING TIPS
Surf Fishing Tips
#1 Look for sloughs and fish in them. Don't over cast them. Even if you are only casting 20 feet.
#2 Use as light of tackle as possible. 12 lb test is good for any fish. Even Drum.
#3 Use the correct bait for the correct fish.
Drum = Menhaden , Mullet , Crab , Shrimp
Mullet = Sand Fleas , Shrimp
Flounder = Live mullet , Mud Minnows
Spots = Bloodworms , Shrimp
#4 Fish the last 2 hours of the falling and the
first 2 hours of the rising tides.
#5 Always use sputnik sinkers. They allow you to keep your line tighter and allow you to see the
fish biting. They also allow you to drink more frosty beverages.
#6 If you never fish for a big one you will never catch a big one. So fish one rod for pan fish and the
one for the big fish.
#7 Learn to use Sand Fleas. (ask at East Coast)
#8 More fish will be within the first 30 feet of the shore than anywhere else.
